Antique Palissey Jug with Lizard Handle. This style of pottery consists of beautiful green glazes and millions of thin spaghetti like shreds of clay which are applied over the entire surface giving a "relief" texture. It incorporates lizards, frogs, dragonflies. It measures 8" diameter x 13" high and dates from 1850. A few of the lizards have small chips.
